A successful, historic variety from former East Germany. The compact plants (about 1 m high outdoors) yield an excellent harvest of rather small, pleasantly tasting, red fruits (30-60 g). The fruits ripen very early, making this variety excellent for outdoor cultivation!
If you frequently grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for instance in a greenhouse, diseases can develop in the soil. Rootstocks are resistant to these diseases, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are given a slightly different name accordingly. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, while a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is perhaps why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
