Beautiful historic tomato from France. The compact plants bear many trusses with deep orange fruits, one size larger than a cherry tomato but smaller than a "regular" cluster tomato: 4-6 cm, the size of an apricot. The tomato owes its name to the often present red veining in the flesh. They weigh 60-120 g and have an excellent clear taste, fruitier than many red tomatoes. It is also a good variety for drying, as the orange color is retained.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the feared potato blight.
