When there is a very sunny summer, these dark red cherry tomatoes turn partly blue. The taste is excellent, a good balance between sweet and sour. Due to the purple pigmentation (anthocyanin), this is an extra healthy tomato! The plants grow tall and yield a reasonable harvest.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are oblong or heart-shaped and are given a slightly different name accordingly. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, while a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the feared potato blight.
