This beautiful, teardrop-shaped tomato produces slender fruits of about 4-6 cm long, tapering to a point. The plants trail over a pot, so you can grow them in hanging baskets or tall pots. The unripe fruits are already very ornamental: light green with dark green stripes. Later, they turn entirely light yellow and then taste deliciously sweet with a hint of citrus.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and receive a slightly different name accordingly. Some are even original wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which may be why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
