These wild tomatoes grow vigorously and are resistant to many diseases and pests. They flower profusely, and later the several hundred fruits grow in fan-shaped clusters. The red, marble-sized fruits are delicious and healthy snacks.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are named accordingly. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, while a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
