This old German variety is very successful for both greenhouse and outdoor cultivation. The plants can grow up to 2 m tall. Give them sturdy support, as the wide trusses bear up to 200 fruits per truss! The yellow fruits are tear- or pear-shaped, sweet, and mildly aromatic. When the first night frosts appear, you can harvest the last trusses and hang them indoors to ripen.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet; a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
