This beautiful tomato originated from a hybrid through selection. Thanks to Hélène Bergquist Orskaug from Norway. The plum-shaped fruits (15-25 g) end in a point and are grouped in beautiful clusters of 10-15. The tomatoes are brownish-red with elegant very dark green stripes, and the purplish flesh (with green juice around the seeds) has a rich flavor: aromatic and sweet. The plants can grow up to 1.8 m tall and yield a good harvest throughout the summer. The very firm fruits can be stored for a long time once ripe.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are given a slightly different name accordingly. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet-sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is perhaps why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
