This historic variety has been very popular in Germany since the 19th century. If you've been loved that long, you must have something to offer! The climbing plants have a sturdy main stem and bear heavy, wide trusses with sometimes more than 20 fruits per truss. The red fruits (3-4 cm) are deliciously sweet and still score high in taste tests.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which may be why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
