The initial growth resembles romaine lettuce, but after harvesting the lower leaves, the plant remains on a sturdy stem! The tender stems are up to 50 cm high and 4-7 cm in diameter; don't let them get too old to prevent woodiness. The plants look very graceful, showing off like small palm trees! In Asia, the stem is very popular as a cut raw vegetable! Stewing and stir-frying are also options, as they are as soft as asparagus. Now it's our turn... Advice: sow several times a year to always have fresh stems.
