The difference with the green and red 'Deer Tongue', besides the colour which is green-red blanched, is also the texture, which is softer. The shape resembles a deer's tongue or (if you will) an American Oak Leaf. This old French loose-leaf lettuce can also be grown in summer and is a beauty!
