Unknown, but beautiful and very tasty! The shrub is completely hardy with us and blooms in large clusters with fragrant, bright white flowers and carmine-red hearts. The pinnate leaves resemble those of a rowan. After flowering, large, green husks appear, which house the thick black seeds. The flowers, leaves, and fresh seeds can be eaten after short boiling or stir-frying. The seeds are quite sweet with a taste like sweet chestnuts. The dried seed is also ground into powder and baked.
