A traditional Italian bottle or butternut squash.
Elongated with a "belly" and a rough veined skin. The ripe colour is warm beige. This is the large and rough version of the butternut type; the flesh is buttery soft and delicious, and due to the rough skin, the fruits keep much longer.
Squashes can be grown outdoors without any problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting during dry weather provides the best storability. All squashes are edible! For some varieties, we mention synonyms, which are the names by which the variety is also known. For other varieties, we mention very similar varieties; if you have a clear preference for one of the varieties listed together, please state this clearly.
