Very popular in South Africa and also known as Gem Squash or Skorsie! This mini pumpkin has many possibilities. It can be stored for a long time, making it ideal for decoration, but it also has a fresh taste, making it good to eat and ideal for cooking whole! The dark green (almost black) spherical fruits are about 10 cm in diameter. Rolet and Little Gem are the green brothers of the Pomme d'Or. If you harvest them unripe, you could classify them as round, climbing courgettes. This problem-free pumpkin thrives even on the poorest soil, although rich soil yields a larger plant with a much larger harvest.
Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without any problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting in dry weather provides the best storability. All pumpkins are edible!
