These medium-sized, 1-2 kg, orange pumpkins are ornamental and edible in 2 ways: the flesh is delicious in soup, but this pumpkin is specially grown for its "hull-less" or "naked" seeds, which are great in baked goods, delicious to snack on raw with some herbs, and (in larger quantities) for pressing oil. 'Naked Bear' yields more seeds than older hull-less varieties, and the plants produce a high yield despite disease attacks.
Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting during dry weather provides the best storage life. All pumpkins are edible! For some varieties, we list synonyms, which are the names under which the variety is also known. For other varieties, we list very similar varieties; if you have a clear preference for one of the varieties listed together, please indicate it clearly.
