Due to its shape and taste, a very popular pumpkin! Flat-round fruits (30-50 cm in diameter) with deep-set, vertical ribs, initially dark green, then ripening to a beautiful ripe cinnamon color (as if carved from wood). The flesh has a soft texture and is yellow-orange in color, sweetly aromatic, somewhat resembling a nutmeg flavor. Musquée de Provence pumpkins are only harvested ripe in our climate with early sowing and (protected) transplanting. If it gets wetter or colder in autumn, they can still be harvested; the fruits will simply ripen in a moderately warm place until they reach their beautiful final color. From that stage, the taste is optimal.
Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without any problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting during dry weather provides the best storability. All pumpkins are edible!
