An old Italian cultivar, very popular around the turn of the century. This variety has 2 forms: 1) beautiful warty, dull black-green fruit, quite large and flattened or 2) flat-round, slightly ribbed, glossy green with vertical, light green vague stripes. Very good shelf life.
Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without any problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting during dry weather gives the best storability. All pumpkins are edible! For some varieties, we list synonyms, which are the names under which the variety is also known.
