This pumpkin is an ancient variety traditionally grown in Mantua (Northern Italy) and has a turban shape consisting of two layers. The fruits weigh 2-4 kg with firm and aromatic flesh, not very stringy and therefore perfect for fillings, risottos and gnocchi. The plants grow vigorously with long vines. The fruits are harvested when at least 50% of the stem has lignified. They can also be stored for 10 months!
Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without any problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting during dry weather provides the best storability. All pumpkins are edible! For some varieties, we mention the synonyms, which are the names under which the variety is also known. For other varieties, we mention very similar varieties; if you have a clear preference for one of those varieties mentioned together, please indicate this clearly.
