A very tasty, North American pumpkin, comparable in taste to Japanese Hokkaido pumpkins (such as Uchiki Kuri). The "bottom" of the fruit usually grows out, making the fruit slightly more elongated. Dimensions are approximately 30-40 cm in diameter, 1-4kg, and the color is a beautiful salmon pink. The storability of the fruits is very good, and the flavor is optimal from late November onwards. This variety has been cultivated for centuries in the river region of Idaho. This variety is a winner in many taste tests; here is one of the jury's comments: "The texture was on point in each cooking method [raw, steamed, roasted]….will perform well in a variety of processes including a quick and mild pickle, sweet and sour, simple preparations such as roasted, skin on slices or cubed and cooked with hearty herbs and spices. Great squash for home and restaurant alike.”
Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting during dry weather gives the best storability. All pumpkins are edible!
