They may not be much to look at, but the taste of these butternut squashes is exceptionally good and unique! Our garden friend Gabriel from Switzerland propagated these special fruits for us. This variety originally comes from Guatemala; the flesh is greenish and can be eaten raw, cooked, or baked. The taste blew us away: raw, we tasted hints of tropical fruits like papaya or banana. Cooked, the pleasantly sweet taste comes out even better... We are proud and happy that this unique pumpkin can now also be admired in Europe!
Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without any problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting during dry weather gives the best shelf life. All pumpkins are edible! For some varieties, we list synonyms, which are the names by which the variety is also known. For other varieties, we list very similar varieties; if you have a clear preference for one of those varieties listed together, please indicate this clearly.
