Pepper 'Tabasco Red'

  • Product number: 209446
  • Origin: Central America
  • Latin: Capsicum frutescens

This Central American variety is primarily known for the production of Tabasco sauce. The plant is bushy, compact, and very productive. The elongated fruits (4-5x1cm) ripen from green through yellow and orange to a bright red color. They are medium hot and, due to their uniquely thick pericarp, are very juicy, hence their great suitability for making sauce. As a chopped pepper in dishes, Tabasco is also not to be despised; aromatic and sweet notes abound.
