In the Canary Islands, this is a very popular variety, used to make the delicious Mojo Picón. The red peppers are quite large: 12 cm long and 3 cm wide, the heat is mild to medium-hot with a good aroma and even a little sweet. The flesh is thick enough to roast or stuff the peppers; they are very tasty both ripe and unripe (green). The plants grow to about 1.2 m high, staying a bit shorter outdoors.
