An ideal creeping, evergreen shrub. They tolerate partial shade, making them suitable for forest edges (deer resistant). The yellow flower clusters attract bees and butterflies. After flowering, beautiful blue berries appear with a dull waxy coating. After 2 nights of frost, the berries become sweeter and can be harvested for, for example, apple-mahonia jam or wine. Protect the part of the berries you want to eat with a net against bird damage. In autumn and winter, the leaves turn beautiful bronze hues.
