Although this variety is relatively early, the type is late-ripening. But don't worry: after harvesting, the fruit continues to ripen. The shape is oval and mottled green-yellow. The thick skin ensures a long shelf life. The flesh is white and very sweet: perfect for Christmas dinner! Harvested young, the fruit is also very tasty and, for example, very popular in Turkey under the name “Kelek”: as refreshing as a cucumber, but already a little sweet!
Winter melon (Inodorus group) A melon that ripens after harvesting and can be stored for a long time. The shape is round to (long)oval, the skin is fairly smooth, sometimes slightly pleated and/or ribbed. The skin color varies per variety from white, yellow to black-yellow striped. The flesh is firm and sweet in colors white, yellow or orange.
