The Chinese have been using this plant in various dishes for centuries. In antiquity, Pythagoras recognized this plant in Greece as a very healthy vegetable. Pick the young leaves for a delicious and elegant salad: the round leaf has an elegant, curly, and therefore extra crispy edge. Cooking (e.g., in soup), stewing, baking, and roasting, everything is possible with mallow leaf. Enjoy your meal! To my surprise, I found this unknown raw vegetable already in our seed guide from 1941-1942; we have always been looking for something special! The name "dessert leaf" dates from the time when chefs (around 1900) used the large, fringed leaves to serve small desserts.
