Glass Gem Indian Corn
- Product number: 195060
- Origin: North America
- Latin: Maize
A very beautiful corn with fresh colours and a shiny appearance! This corn originated from the passion of Carl Barnes, who collected and cultivated old, original corn varieties. Native Americans have been growing corn for centuries, and thanks to many serious collectors, many varieties have been preserved.
One of the paths Barnes explored was this very colourful variety, which received an extra boost when Greg Schoen continued to cultivate it. Because corn easily mixes with other varieties, surprising results sometimes emerge; try it yourself with several different colours!
'Glass Gem' is obviously very attractive for decoration, but you can also make good baking corn from it, and if dried well, it also pops nicely into popcorn.
