A very healthy corn, originally obtained from the Cimmyt gene bank (Mexico). It contains easily available amino acids: 60-100% absorbable lysine and tryptophan are present in the corn. It is a stable cross between various opaque-2 corn varieties from the Andes. The cobs are a beautiful light blue with other color nuances. This type of traditional corn is cooked with lime (wood ash) into masa harina, which is then used to make tortillas. The corn plants grow quite tall and have a long growing season, so plant them on time! For more information, see www.cimmyt.org
