It's astonishing how corn, with kernels the size of grains of wheat, could have evolved from a grass! Yet, it is now established that this is indeed the true ancestor of our current corn. Without theoretical knowledge of genetics, the first inhabitants of America, through selection and spontaneous (?) cross-breeding, progressively enlarged the corn... That is what domestication achieves, even in ancient times. Plant this curious seed and marvel... The kernels can be ground or cooked. Who knows, this crop might one day be discovered as a new superfood.
