A popular vegetable, known worldwide! Stems, leaves, and flower buds are all eaten. The leaves and stems have a pungent flavor, while the flower stem and bud have a delicate sweet taste. This slightly slower-growing selection is considered the best and most reliable for all cultivation, with a slight preference for autumn and winter crops. The leaves are thicker and heavier than all other varieties and only come into flower once the plant is well established. Also delicious when harvested young as baby leaves. Please note: for early cultivation (before July 1st), sow them in soil blocks, as any growth inhibition carries the risk of flowering.
