A popular vegetable, known all over the world! Stem, leaves and flower buds are eaten. The leaves and stem have a pungent taste, while the flower stem and bud have a delicate sweet taste. This selection is known in the tropics as the "70-80 day selection". Here it takes a little longer, but this is the type that is mainly grown in spring and summer. The leaves are thicker than the fast type and only flower when the plant is well-leaved. Please note: sow them in soil blocks, because any growth inhibition carries the risk of flowering.
