The earliest and most productive collard green we know of. The beautifully rounded leaves are juicy and slightly crinkled.
This type is one of the oldest cabbages in cultivation. The Romans introduced them to Northern Europe. Loose-leaf cabbage has now become quite popular in the US as Collard Green. You can find them in gardens, at Organic Markets, and even in supermarkets. In Brazil, Portugal, and North Africa, you also find them frequently, for example, under the name "Couve Portuguese". Cultivation is very easy; they only tend to bolt during the hottest days. Therefore, they are ideal for spring, autumn, and winter cultivation.
