A strong variety for outdoor cultivation, moderately trailing, can be grown as a climber in the greenhouse. The green, medium-long, fairly smooth fruits are bitter-free and have a sweet, fresh taste. Mixed flowering, bitter-free and resistant to downy and powdery mildew and various viruses. In an extra young stage, the crunchy fruits can be harvested as gherkins or snack cucumbers: at a size of 18x2 cm, the fruits weigh 70 g. "Mature" fruits are 25x6 cm and weigh 650 kg. This variety is slightly smaller and therefore slightly earlier than 'Vantage' F1 (124005)
In greenhouse cultivation, soil diseases can establish themselves, so grafting cucumbers onto a disease-resistant rootstock can be the solution. For grafting, use this variety: 133000 'Boule de Siam'. As a tool, we recommend these grafting clips: 847525 Grafting clip 2.5 mm.
GENERAL INTRODUCTION CUCUMBERS:
Cucumbers, which develop long vines, should be pruned regularly. For outdoor cultivation (depending on the variety), a reasonable summer is needed, and all varieties grow in the greenhouse. Sometimes it is advisable to let the plant grow outdoors if fruit set fails! Cucumbers are usually harvested unripe, unless the skin becomes extra beautiful when ripe. Unripe fruits are cut and processed raw in salads; ripe fruits can be scooped out like a melon. Many small cucumber-like varieties or (extremely) young harvested fruits are eaten as gherkins (pickled) or as a healthy snack with a drink or meal. Pay attention to the individual description of our species and varieties; some are for ornamental purposes only and are NOT edible!
