This tropical tree is widely used for reforestation there; here, the plant can be grown in a pot: outdoors in summer and indoors in winter.
After the beautiful clusters of orange and yellow flowers, yellow, oval-shaped fruits appear, which are very aromatic with a nice balance between sweet and bitter. The flowers are also edible and in the tropics are usually mixed with rice to make a cake-like dish eaten on New Year's Day as part of a tradition. Its medicinal value is highly regarded in traditional medicine.
