A member of a large herbaceous berry-bearing genus: and quite a tasty one! The plants, over 1m tall, bloom with pure white flowers with pointed petals (typical of this entire genus). After flowering, dark purple, almost black berries appear, resembling blueberries. The white flesh has flavour characteristics of both grape and tomato! Eat them raw, dried, or in jam. The plants prefer humus-rich, moisture-retaining soil. Relatively rarely offered.
