This winter-hardy relative of our carrots blooms beautifully with yellow umbels similar to dill and fennel. The edible flowers are long-lasting in a vase! Mix the flowers (without the main stem) into salads or stir-fry them briefly like broccoli. The total height of the (flowering) plant is 50-100 cm, and it blooms in May-June. Give them a sunny to partially shaded, moist location. The plants are usually free from any pests, and butterflies love them. The root is used for medicinal purposes; see the internet for more information.
