That promises something: harvesting peas from a hardy shrub! The shrub has beautiful pinnate leaves and cheerful yellow flowers, after which edible pods and the small seeds within them develop. Both the young pods (cook briefly) and the ripe seeds (cook until tender) can be eaten and taste very similar to peas. The entire plant is used in Chinese medicine as a treatment for breast cancer and other applications. Of course, any application is entirely at your own risk! The shrub likes well-drained soil and absolute full sun. Without pruning, the shrub grows considerably into a small tree of 6 m; pruning or potting can significantly limit this growth.
