This 19th-century (or older!) 'oldie' grows to about 1-1.5 meters high (but in fertile soil, 1.8m has been reached), so support is needed. The pods are remarkably large and fleshy with a strong aroma, which many enthusiasts describe as the "real pod flavor". An extra bonus during growth: the beautiful, purple-colored bloom.
