The old white zucchini is now available in a modern jacket: evenly thick throughout, cream-white to very light green, the flesh (when young) is tender and greenish-white in colour. The plants yield a lot, and when harvested regularly, they continue to bear fruit for a long time.

Zucchini can be grown outdoors without any problems. This variety does not trail; the fruits grow from the centre of
the plant. For consumption, harvest the fruits when young to very young. For decorative purposes, let them grow larger; then they can be stored.

(Too) large harvest? Sauté a quantity of chopped courgettes, onions, and garlic. Then purée and freeze. After thawing, this forms an excellent base for soups when combined with broth. If the courgette is quite large: Peel and deseed, then peel further with a peeler or cheese slicer to create courgette ribbons, beautiful white strands. Sprinkle with salt and let drain. Then mix well with two generous tablespoons of chopped chives, the same amount of burnet leaves, and the same amount of mayonnaise. This makes a delicious salad for approximately 4 to 8 people, depending on the courgette. For every 15 cm of courgette length and a circumference of 25 cm, there's enough for 1 to 2 people, depending on whether it's a main course or a side dish...
