Variegated Chicory 'Variegata Precoce Romea' 5g

  • Product number: 070300
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Cichorium intybus

This attractive (variegated) red chicory forms round to open heads that need to be exposed to cold to achieve their beautiful colouring: green-red-white speckled. The plants can tolerate some cold, but a tunnel or greenhouse offers the most certainty in winter.

The chicory family includes endive, frizzy endive, and various types of chicory. Characteristic is the more or less present "bitterness", formerly detested and now highly appreciated. Let a plant "bolt" once: chicory flowers are usually exquisitely blue in colour and smell of vanilla!

Names:
Latin: Cichorium intybus
