Red Chicory 'Red Palla Rossa' / 'Rosso di Chioggia' 3g

  • Product number: 070270
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Cichorium intybus

ORGANICALLY GROWN SEEDS! Round, large to medium, dark red heads form these short-day plants. Sow from mid-June for good head formation. The heads are rather loose and therefore not so "weather-sensitive". The stark white veins provide a beautiful contrast.

The chicory family includes endive, frizzy endive, and various types of chicory. Characteristic is the more or less present "bitterness", formerly reviled and nowadays highly valued. Let a plant "bolt" sometime: chicory flowers are usually beautifully blue in color and smell of vanilla!

Names:
Latin: Cichorium intybus
