A very old, native vegetable. The robust perennial plants produce arrow-shaped leaves, which are eaten like spinach, the total plant height is about 60 cm. The young shoots are earthed up and harvested in spring like asparagus, and thus eaten as such. You can remove the plant in spring if there are seedlings: a fresh start!
