Dewberry, Yellow

  • Product number: 053500

  • Latin: Rubus chamaemorus

The taste is unforgettable: sweet, sour, soft and tingling! The plants are creeping, grow mainly in moist, swampy areas and are very hardy, down to -40̊C. Ripe fruits are golden yellow and rich in vitamin C. We get the seeds from Sweden, Lillterrsjö. In Sweden, the cloudberry is a delicacy and locals process the berries into jam, drinks and in cheese. Keep several plants, as there are male and female plants.

Sowing method: Year-round, first pre-soak for 24-48 hours, then scarify for a few minutes between sandpaper, and then soak again for 24 hours. Sow in a mixture of cocopeat and sand and place the sown seeds at a maximum of 4̊C; slight freezing is not a problem. After 3 months, the sown seeds can be brought to room temperature; never let them dry out. Germination can take 12 months. Sowing in a large pot outdoors is also an option; in that case, let winter do its work.
