This bean variety is hardly known in our country (are you curious yet?) and is cultivated in Central and South India. First of all, the beautiful, large, dark red seeds stand out. They are approximately the shape of a broad bean. First, there is an enormous growth spurt of the attractive, fast-growing climbing plant, and in late summer, the wonderful, lilac flowers develop into enormous pods, 25-30 cm long and 2 cm wide. These can be harvested young and eaten pod and all, or you can eat the seeds when they are more mature or fully ripe. Do cook them for a while, as you would with dry beans. In a heated greenhouse, the plant can overwinter, so growing it in a large container will provide years of enjoyment!
