SEE 045245. Rescued from oblivion! The beans grow in 16 cm long pods and can be shelled dry or fresh. Young beans can be eaten as green beans. Round white beans with a reddish-brown pattern around the eye in the shape of a praising angel or a bird, and conversely, many see a little soldier in it! The texture is soft and the taste is reminiscent of chestnut puree or a soft chickpea. Delicious as hummus but also in salads! The plants remain low: about 50 cm.

Dry beans are harvested in different ways. Some varieties are also edible with the whole pod, others can only be eaten fresh or (mature) dry. Tip for storing dry beans: to prevent any bean weevil eggs from hatching, place the well-dried beans in the freezer for 24 hours.
