Astrid Storm sent us these beautiful red-and-white speckled beans from the Jacob-Cattle group. The low-growing plants have a sturdy structure and produce long pods with an excellent harvest.
Dry beans are harvested in various ways. Some varieties can be eaten with the entire pod, while others can only be eaten fresh or (mature) dry. Tip for storing dry beans: to prevent any bean weevil eggs from hatching, place the well-dried beans in the freezer for 24 hours.
