You will experience that you can show off with runner beans with this mix of 10 climbing varieties in all different colours: red, white, salmon pink and red-white. A cheerful blooming feast of tasty string beans! Harvest the pods young for tender (string) beans or let them ripen for a wonderful (dry) bean dish.
Runner beans are very hardy beans; use the climbing varieties as a windbreak for regular string beans. When picked young, they are at least as tasty. If the beans hang for too long, the individual beans (seeds) can be shelled. These are known as 'potato beans'. Runner beans are also quite resistant to salty wind.
