Snappy rucola, Wasabi rucola

  • Product number: 029050
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Picris hieracioides

We are increasingly realizing that the nature around us also offers a lot of edible plants. When I walk with friends and pop leaves into my mouth here and there, it still elicits much surprise, but we have largely outgrown our knowledge about it. This plant, officially called Hawkweed Ox-Tongue, is very tasty and spicy as an addition to a mixed salad. For example, it enhances the taste of arugula. Just regularly sow a pot full and keep harvesting! Briefly stir-frying it with some fruit vegetables, such as bell peppers and tomatoes, is also an option. Finally: bees love to visit its yellow ray florets.

Names:
Latin: Picris hieracioides
