This favourite, traditional Italian variety yields a large harvest of mildly flavoured fruits. The advantage of its long, slender shape is the handy, round slices you can cut from it. This elongated shape was brought from India by Hindustani Surinamese people, and there they are called “Boulangier”. Thus, this fruit enjoys great popularity in various places around the world! They are best harvested young, and can eventually grow to 15 cm long.
