Here it is, the first 100% male purple asparagus. This greatly benefits the yield! Cultivation is possible throughout Europe, in both colder and very warm (subtropical) climates. The thick, intensely purple stems have a unique aroma! After the annual harvest, vigorous upright growth follows. Large growers plough an extra ridge against the plants, while a hobby grower can also pull a climbing net lying along poles upwards.
Tip: for the cultivation of blanched (white) asparagus, asparagus foil is very useful! See 845005
