A particularly edible relative of the well-known Chinese lantern plant. The plant grows to over 1m tall, and after flowering, the lanterns with the aromatic sweet, orange-yellow berries appear. The taste is a mix of pineapple, strawberry and tomato with a slight bitterness. Harvestable when the husks turn yellow, after which they have a fairly long shelf life.
