This packet contains a wide variety of species from the TPS assortment. TPS stands for True Potato Seed. This mix consists of several varieties and a blend: Freeka, Blaue Anneliese, Blue Berry, Blaue Bristen, and a Pro Specie Rara mixture. You will find tuberosum and phureja varieties. The most interesting varieties can be propagated further through tubers or cuttings.
Our Swiss potato enthusiast Stefan Griesser grows interesting potatoes from seed and turns them into well-reproducible seed-bearing varieties. We are including some of these varieties in our assortment, hoping that hobbyists or small growers will enjoy cultivating them. Sowing potatoes is a fun adventure, which is common practice for breeders of new varieties! The initial cultivation is similar to tomatoes: sow, prick out, and plant out in April-May (no night frost!)
